Rusted Trees II

$100

11″ x 14″ x 7/8″ deep wood panel

acrylic, cheesecloth, vintage textile, copper tacks

The latest fires on the West coast are another manisfestation of the climate crisis.  The Amazonian rain forest burning harkens the reality that this is a man-made phenomenon. Rusted Trees I was made in 2016 and is one of my favorite pieces.  The deep autumnal colors and referenced trees in the white textile evoke the burning forests.  So, I again rusted pieces of vintage textiles with a piece of metal found in the street.  Rusted Trees II combines acrylic paint, cheesecloth and the separate rusted textile attached by embroidery thread on a wood panel.
