In practice, Jim Crow laws mandated racial segregation in: housing, transportation (buses/cabs), schools, hospitals, resturants, theaters, bars, bus stations, public bathrooms, drinking fountains, churches, swimming pools, outdoor recreation areas, beaches, lakes, retail stores, job sites, courtrooms, jails, and more.
