$35

11″ x 14″ on paper (note: the color is torquoise green not blue)

acrylic background, gel monotype (5.5″x8″), solvent transfer of original photograph

This is truely a mixed-media painting!  It required 4 separate techinques.  1. acrylic painting, 2. gel monotype, 3. photograph, 4. solvent transfer. First, the background was made by applying torquoise acrylic paint to heavy paper, which was pressed with another paper to create the wonderful textured effect. Then a separate 5.5″x8″ gel monotype in sage green was glued on.  Applied to the monotype was a solvent transfer of the Ionic column (from a photograph I took of an Ionic column found on a house in Cambridge, Massachusetts).
