11″ x 14″ on thick textured paper
white gessoed canvas strips, machine stitching, hand embroidery, cotton threads, on paper
Why “Fatigue”? This fiber art piece represents the process of doing a mindless repetative task (machine sewn canvas strips), and the breaks of awareness (black embroidered dashes) which connect to mental and physical exhaustion. However, the monochromatic and textured piece can also be felt as restful and calming. It is all in the eyes of the beholder!
