Transformation Series

Healing is a process of transformation. This series of small canvas paintings may resemble the Rorschach ink blots used in a personality test. However, they also resemble butterflies and reference their metamorphosis and beauty. The collages are made of paper-thin acrylic pieces. First, acrylic paint dabs are pressed in palette paper making mirror images.  Dried pieces are scraped off and combined to create butterfly-like images. These are glued to the textured canvas and sealed with topcoat of clear gel medium. Imagine a horizontal grouping hung over your desk, or vertically on a narrow wall? -Nan
