The Black Lives Matter movement is bravely, militantly calling for an end to racism in all its ugly forms. This is a series of 5 small canvases wrapped with fabric strips and acrylic paint, then collaged with transfers on fabric and misc. ephemera. As a white woman who grew up in the segregated South, I am committed to building solidarity and actively fighting racism. The impetus for this series arose from participating in the 2016 Boston Pride march when activists stopped the procession for 14 minutes and spoke the names of 14 transgender people who had been killed that year. The full purchase price of this series will be sent directly to the local chapter of Black Lives Matter.
