“Self-Leadership” (for sale in 100 Part in 100 Days Series) won a Governor’s Citation in recognition of being chosen for a juried exhibition sponsored by the Massachusetts Office on Disability. The Breaking Barriers exhibit (November 14-24) in the Mass. State House is available online at www.mass.gov/mod/art. Governor Charles D. Baker’s citation reads: “Your artwork helps raise awareness of how people with disabilities overcome barriers and stigma.”
I will be attending the 2017 Internal Family Systems (IFS) Annual Conference over the weekend of October 28th and 29th at the Omni Hotel in Providence, Rhode Island.
I hold supreme gratitude for the effectiveness of Internal Family Systems therapy. IFS concepts are a theme of several of my art series, namely Self and 100 Parts in 100 Days. In the former, words associated with “Self” (compassion, curiosity, calm, confidence, clarity, courage, creativity, connection, patience, persistence, perspective, playful, presence) are the focus. The latter, an ambitious series of 100 mixed media pieces produced in 100 days, was an exercise in artistic creativity employing IFS techniques.
